DAVID LOITZ is a filmmaker, multimedia artist and educator. He graduated with a BFA in Film/Video in 2005 from California Institute of the Arts and is completing his Masters in Elementary Education at Goddard College.

MR. DAVID'S SPRING BREAK CLASSES

Mr. David’s School of Film Spring Break 2017

All classes below will take place at TaborSpace (5441 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97215)

 

Students can attend one session or combine Multiple Sessions extend their learning. For example, students can attend all 5 Lego Animation classes during the week or two classes on the same day. Discounts are given for attending multiple sessions.

 

Students who take more than one session will get to learn more in-depth techniques and create longer more advanced animations. One session is a good jumping off point, but students who are interested in developing their skills will benefit from more than one session. Parents can sign up for one day and if room is available can sign up again for the next day. Feel free to email me (mrdavidfilm@gmail.com)  if you have questions.

 

Please note: We can offer lunch care from 12-1pm for an additional fee. Fee waived if students sign up for both sessions.



 

Lego/Stop Motion Animation

9am-12pm Monday-Friday Morning Sessions  

Classes are 3 hours.

Full: $175

2+ Sessions: $40 dollars each

3 hours long each day from 9am-12pm Monday-Friday. The camp is designed as a week long camp but Alumni Students can take one or more classes.

Minimum for most class sessions is 5 students.  Classes over 15 students will be waitlisted.

 

For this morning camp students are required to sign up for at least two morning sessions and are encouraged to sign up for the full week.

 

Afternoon classes are designed as stand alone classes, but can be taken as an extension of the morning camp.  If your child has not taken a class with Mr. David, please email if you have any questions.

 

Mr. David’s School of Film Alumni Students can take one or more sessions. Priority will be given to full week campers.

LEGO ANIMATION/STOP MOTION ANIMATION CAMP

Learn to make Stop Motion Animation films using LEGO,Clay, Paper and more or Combine two of your favorite things--Legos and film! Use your knowledge and love of Legos to create stop-motion animations and short films.This 3 hours long camp is runs from 9am-12pm Monday-Friday. The camp is designed as a week long session where students will start by learning the basics of stop-motion animation and each day learn more advanced skills like green screen, creating special effect, and basic movie making skills like editing and sound effects, using iPads and a variety of tools we provide. We will post your project, where you can show your family and friends. Please see examples of previous work

Star Wars Lego Animation

In honor of the on-going Star Wars Saga, Mr. David's School of Film is hosting a Star Wars ‎Lego‬ ‪Animation‬ classes.  Bring a friend and your favorite ‪Star Wars‬ legos and make your own chapter in the Star Wars Saga! Receive a small Star Wars kit with class registration

Basic Coding with Stop Motion Animation (NEW Class)

Students will learn basic coding language by creating a stop motion film using legos and clay and other materials. Students will then get to create their own coded scripts and animate their films with sound effects and special events.  Students will be able to share their films with other friends and family.  Examples to come!

Green Screen Fun! (NEW CLASS)

 

 

Have you ever wanted to visit Paris without leaving Portland or Safely swim with sharks or maybe you wanted to travel to outerspace. Students in this class will learn basic Green Screen magic and create short movies and photos that can be downloaded and shared with family and friends. Students will learn all the tricks and skills need to create their very own Green screen studio in their bedroom.

Digital Photography for Beginners

 

Learn to create great photos both indoor and outdoors on digital camera from point and shoot to DSLR to Ipads/tablets or smart phone. Students will learn how to tell a story with their photos while learning a range of photography skills and basic photo editing skills. Learn how to master their own digital photo devices. Students should bring their photography device of choice. Please email if you have any questions. Ipads will be available for students to use.  Pictures will be shared for digital download or online viewing.

 

Ages 8-16 years old.
